Summer

It’s no surprise that hiking is really popular with most of our guests.   After all, the Wilder Kaiser Region was the first Alpine region to be awarded the Austrian Hiking Seal of Approval or “Wanderguetesiegel”, recognising excellence in hiking facilities.

You probably think that hiking is only for the retired, but there you’re wrong! These days you’ll be hard-pushed to spot a Knickbocker-clad walker clutching a hiking stick. Kitted out with innovative state-of-the-art equipment available from our 1200 m2 sport shop, and surrounded by nature and fresh mountain air, you will soon be addicted to this activity.

Still not convinced? Then why not get to know the Wilder Kaiser Region on two wheels? The villages of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Soell are part of the biggest E-bike region in the world – BikeWelt in the Kitzbueheler Alps-Wilder Kaiser Region. From easy bike rides along the valley to more challenging mountain tours, this bikers’ paradise offers the perfect route for every bike and every biker.

Looking forward to a relaxing round of golf? Then Ellmau’s 27-hole golf course nestled at the foot of the spectacular Wilder Kaiser Mountains is the place for you to perfect your swing. Beginners can practice at the nearby 9-hole Golf Academy. Why not dive in?

There are loads of places in and around Ellmau where you can take a refreshing dip.  You’ll find bathing lakes, fed by natural springs rising in the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, in the villages of Scheffau, Going and Soell.

If you are looking for a water paradise, then the KaiserBad in Ellmau is the place for you. This adventure pool centre offers non-stop fun with a luxurious indoor pool connected by flow channel to an outdoor pool, a bio-pond and waterslides.
