COVID-19: Corona Facts KEEP ROCKIN' - SAFE HOLIDAYS IN ELLMAU
The entire world has been turned upside down for some months now. We have all had to learn to alter our lives and daily routines to comply with the many new rules. Our awareness and appreciation of certain freedoms has changed; we have rediscovered the simple things in life and adopted a more down-to-earth approach.
The Tirol Lodge ethos epitomises these changes, offering everything you need for an uncomplicated holiday. Compact bedrooms, simple hotel design, delicious cuisine and the perfect location, right next to the cable car & ski slopes.
Freedom of movement and unrestricted international travel is currently not the norm. This leaves us longing for a break all the more, a getaway from the stresses of everyday life. More than ever, we have become more health conscious and recognise that spending time in the great outdoors, surrounded by fresh mountain air, is particularly important for our physical and mental health.
The spacious Tirol Lodge, with its extensive facilities, is perfectly located right next to the cable car. Step out of the front door and take the first gondola to conquer the mountains for yourself.
Please find the following information about our COVID 19 policies, regulations and security measures to ensure a carefree and safe holiday at the Tirol Lodge Ellmau.
The obligation to register before entering Austria was relaxed as of June 10. Only those entering Austria from a high-incidence or virus variant area must register here in advance.
Since Sunday, August 1, anyone returning to Germany who has not been vaccinated or has not recovered must have a negative Corona test. (Exceptions apply for commuters and for stays of up to 24 hours. Children under the age of 12 are also exempt).
On-site testing facilities:
The simplest, free on-site option: In hotels, your hosts will provide you with "test kits" for self-testing and all necessary information (subject to availability). These tests are valid for 24 hours.
A test station in Ellmau is also available directly on site in the Wilder Kaiser region on the initiative of the tourism association. Since the state and federal government unfortunately do not cover the costs for this, we have to collect a contribution towards expenses in the amount of 16 euros per test from our guests in order to be able to continue to offer this service.
- Test roads of the province
At the test roads of the province of Tyrol, guests can also be tested free of charge. The possibilities in Kufstein, Wörgl, St. Johann and Kitzbühel can therefore be used.
We recommend but for an early registration on tiroltestet.at !

► HYGIENE & DISINFECTION
Hygiene and appropriate cleaning procedures have, of course, always been a priority in our hotel. We have increased our cleaning regime, with particular attention being given to even more stringent disinfection processes.
Our housekeeping team cleans your room with the utmost attention to detail, following the strictest hygiene regulations and disinfection measures.
Public areas, sauna and pool areas, sanitary facilities & all areas with contact points are regularly and intensively cleaned and disinfected.
In order to guarantee safe co-existence, we recommend that everyone wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, several times a day, and sanitise them regularly. Hand sanitiser dispensers are located at all entrances and exits, for maximum protection.
► FURTHER SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Glass screens are in place in the reception and bar area, and of course room keycards and everyday items are regularly disinfected.
► MOUTH AND NOSE PROTECTION
As of July 1, 2021, masks are no longer mandatory in the tourism and hospitality industry. The 3-G rule still exists and must be presented at check-in.
Everyone needs to play their part in keeping us all safe. We therefore ask all guests to behave in a responsible and considerate manner, and to contribute to the bigger picture – a healthy society.
► SECURE TRUST
We follow all regulations advised by the Austrian Federal Government, without exception. We have also introduced further standards to help fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. All employees of our hotel are regularly tested for the coronavirus. This ensures not just the health of our team, but also of our guests.
► SKI IN SKI OUT
We are situated right next to the Hartkaiser gondola, saving you the hassle of taking public transport. Walk out of your room in the morning and straight on to the first gondola, which departs more or less directly from your doorstep. This helps keep you safe.
► LOADS OF SPACE
Our hotel complex comprises more than 5,000 m2, so there is plenty of space to move safely and maintain social distancing whilst you are with us. Our lodge consists of well-ventilated buildings with several ski depots and a huge amount of space, allowing for the safety of each individual guest.
► FRESH MOUNTAIN AIR
Ventilation remains one of the bigger issues nowadays. The ventilation system in the Tirol Lodge pumps fresh mountain air from the surrounding peaks and forests to all parts of the hotel.
► OUTDOOR FITNESS
Our outdoor fitness court is perfect for a safe training session in pure, fresh air. Perfect in times like these. The workout area has a natural canopy, allowing a safe and carefree workout, just like being in the great outdoors.
Entry requirements can change daily. We advise you to check a reliable source. We recommend the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health and the Austrian Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs for the most up-to-date information.
We also recommend guests fully inform themselves about applicable laws and regulations before starting their journey.
Not only are entry regulations to Austria subject to constant changes, but also regulations in your country of origin. Information regarding travel restrictions can be found on the Austrian Federal Government website or on those of your respective Foreign Offices.
